Smart Economy 2017: how to avoid being ripped off

Learn how to avoid paying a fake $100 fake!

This year there is a newly developed form of counterfeit fake leather goods, it is called the “counterfeit resin mask”. After the masks are fabricated the cuticle remains undamaged, hence it looks like real leather. Buyers can look at these products and believe they are a counterfeit leather product.

Although this product is completely defective it is still sold in garages, markets, ghost shops, and government offices across Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Japan. Buyers often don’t realize that the genuine goods they are buying are very expensive or are a fake.

How to Identify the Real and the Fake:

The store or man behind the counter may be able to sell a fake leather product as a genuine leather product. It could be worth a few dollars per mask.

There are fake fake cuticle and glove products available all over Indonesia.

The only way to protect yourself is to have a qualified person inspect the product.

The vendor should be licensed by the government.

If the vendor does not have a license and does not have credentials, they may be selling counterfeit goods.

Certified experts who work for an entity will be able to comment on the product and provide information about whether it is fake or genuine.

Some countries conduct checks to identify counterfeit goods but this is not a common practice in our region. One strong indication that your product is fake is when the manufacturer does not provide a valid and original certificate.

If you need to purchase something that is counterfeit, be wary of the prices. If they are cheaper than the original, they could be counterfeit.

Malaysia’s Police have stepped up its efforts in cracking down on counterfeiting and once again this is a good time to do your research on the products that you want.

If you suspect counterfeit goods you should contact the police or a lawyer.

A product that is recognized by the “cradle” has to contain the material that it was primarily manufactured from.

A product that is recognized by the “ruler” or “container” has to contain the material that it was primarily manufactured from.

A product that is recognized by the “speakers” or “chargers” has to be generally accepted as having been manufactured by the company.

A product that is recognized by the “teachers” or “engineers” has to be generally accepted as having been manufactured by the company.

A product that is recognized by the “elves” or “aversives” has to be generally accepted as having been manufactured by the company.

A product that is recognized by the “providers” or “signals” has to be generally accepted as having been manufactured by the company.

If you suspect counterfeit goods, once again pay attention to the pricing and remember that there are innocent vendors out there. If something looks too good to be true, it probably is.
